CHANGAN Automobile is set to unveil its world-class experience by showcasing its groundbreaking technologies, “REEV” (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) Technology, at the Techsauce Global Summit 2024 at Hall 3-4, Booth C4 of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on August 7th-9th. These innovations represent the Future of Mobility, facilitating the driving needs in every perspective to parallelly enhance human life quality and decelerate climate change.
Mr. Shen Xinghua, Managing Director of CHANGAN Auto Southeast Asia Co., Ltd., had expressed his honor to participate in the Techsauce Global Summit 2024. He highlighted the event as a convergence of leading technology companies in Southeast Asia to foster business opportunities and drive the region's digital transformation. CHANGAN Automobile will showcase its premier technologies, REEV technology, reinforcing its status as a global leader in technology and innovation.
Mr. Shen Xinghua also highlighted the REEV, a type of new energy vehicle that combines electric drivetrain with an onboard internal combustion engine and generator to extend the vehicle's driving range beyond what the battery alone can provide.
The REEV technology, which has already launched in China, has received excellent feedback from the use of Super Range 2.0 technology, an advanced version of the previous long-range power system which features enhanced efficiency and extended range through cutting-edge technological advancements.
The Super Range 2.0 technology features multiple technology upgrades such as high-pressure fuel injection, high-energy ignition, adaptive oil cooling, and active lubrication. Additionally, it uses the Golden Shield Battery technology ensuring long life, real safety, high efficiency, and rapid energy replenishment. For proactive safety checks, it employs the Vehicle Cloud AI intelligent diagnostic algorithm group, achieving nearly 100% accuracy in battery safety warnings.
The vehicle operates in multiple modes: Electric Mode uses battery power alone can drive with long-distance, Range-Extending Mode activates an internal combustion engine and generator to produce electricity when battery level is low, powering the motor and recharging the battery, Regenerative Braking converts kinetic energy into electrical energy to recharge the battery and Camping Mode allows the range extender to generate power for the battery when the vehicle is stationary and the battery level is low. Engines and generators produce electricity and retain it.
REEV technology represents an alternative solution in the sphere of future automotive technology, offering benefits of electric drive with the long-distance capabilities of traditional vehicles. It reduces emissions and saves more fuel than conventional hybrid cars, as the engine and generator operate less frequently and more efficiently. It provides convenience for long-distance travel without frequent recharging stops, making it ideal for both city commuting and long journeys.
