Rayong – CHANGAN Automobile, a leader in low-carbon intelligent automotive technology, recently welcomed a delegation from the Map Ta Phut Customs Office to visit its Rayong factory – the company’s first overseas fully integrated new energy vehicle (NEV) production base.

 

Mr. Shen Xinghua, Managing Director of Changan Auto Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. and Changan Auto Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., warmly welcomed Ms. Pannalin Sangchote, Director of Customs Services Division 3, and her team. The delegation toured the facility and observed its comprehensive EV production processes, operated under the company’s “Green and Intelligent” standards. 

 

The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art, intelligent manufacturing technologies and is designed to be environmentally friendly. It uses high-efficiency equipment and modern, low-carbon processes to minimize environmental impact. The factory is also supported by the Customs Department and the Thai government and has been designated as a bonded warehouse zone, enhancing its logistical and import-export capabilities.

In addition to the factory tour, CHANGAN’s executive team visited Ms. Phatthariya Kulchon, Director of the Map Ta Phut Customs Office to express their appreciation for the ongoing support. During the visit, the company reaffirmed its long-term investment commitment in Thailand and its dedication to contributing to the development of the Thai automotive industry and economy. CHANGAN aims to reduce reliance on vehicle imports by increasing local production in line with the government’s EV 3.0 and EV 3.5 policies. The company also targets sourcing 60–70% of vehicle components locally to support Thai suppliers and enhance the domestic supply chain.

 

Furthermore, CHANGAN has assigned experienced Thai professionals with expertise in import-export operations to liaise directly with the Customs Department, ensuring transparent, compliant, and efficient collaboration between the company and government agencies.
